Building a true
multiracial democracy

family participating in stva prop 50 canvass
Our elections are under attack, from gutting the Voting Rights Act to ICE intimidation in our neighborhoods. This fall we're in the districts most at risk, making sure working people know their rights and their power.
Seed the Vote Action recruits, trains and mobilizes thousands of volunteers from across the U.S. to build people-powered movements for the long term.

We partner with organizations rooted in working-class communities and communities of color organizing toward multiracial democracy. This year, we’re mobilizing volunteers for historic voter turnout and training them in election defense so every vote is counted.

Word from our Team

This year, we’re mobilizing volunteers for historic voter turnout and training them so every vote is counted. Talking to voters before, during, and after the election is our best way to defend it.
—Dylan Cooke, STV Action
The results are the highest numbers I’ve ever seen in a script iteration phase in five experiments over seven years, an order of magnitude better than what’s been tested over the last couple of decades.
–Adam Kruggel, deep canvassing researcher
People said California's too big for statewide canvassing and that redistricting would be too complicated to explain at the doors...Together, with hundreds of other STV volunteers, we knocked on 18,846 doors, and Prop 50 won.
—Andrea Lee
STV really respects its volunteers and donors and keeps us well-informed. And I have always believed in STV’s model of long-term organizing; I have been a monthly donor since 2020. Supporting STV is the best thing I can think of to work to save and build our democracy.
—Jackie
Unlike a lot of canvassing experiences, I genuinely feel like this one makes a big difference. I feel like I'm not selling a candidate. I'm actually connecting with people.
—Isabel
How we work:

We know lasting change won’t come through elections alone. Real progress is won when communities have the power to organize, turn out, and demand policy solutions that improve people’s lives. This is only possible when our leaders understand that working-class communities of color are constituencies that they must be responsive to.

That’s why we send our volunteers to grassroots organizations that work year-round in working-class communities. Our partners are the deep-rooted, on-the-ground experts. When Seed the Vote Action provides extra capacity to their existing infrastructure, we are helping our partners build a permanent, organized electoral base. By combining year-round organizing with strategic electoral support, we build grassroots power for the long haul.

Get involved:

Knock doors for election defense. Travel to a district at risk of election interference for a few days of doorknocking with our partner organizations. Educate voters about the importance of their vote and how to protect fair and free elections in their community. No experience needed. We train everyone.

Make calls. Phone bank from anywhere in the country. Our phone banks are welcoming, well run, and effective, with training built into every shift.

Become a volunteer leader. Seed the Vote Action relies on volunteers to carry out our essential programs. Reach out to info@seedthevoteaction.org to learn more about current opportunities.

Donate to build an infrastructure that lasts.
